Caledonia Pride turned in their best defensive performance of the season to beat BA London Lions.

Caledonia Pride put in a strong second half performance at the Oriam Arena in Edinburgh to beat BA London Lions 64-46, in their best defensive performance of the season led by Tricia Oakes.

The win gives Pride the head-to-head between the teams, snapping a run of three straight defeats and strengthening their place in the Play-off positions.

Turning point – Robyn Lewis sparked the decisive run with a three-pointer midway through the third quarter, before Tricia Oakes added four more in a 9-0 burst as the visitors were held scoreless for five minutes. Sarah Thomson then added five points as the hosts scored the first seven of the fourth period, making it a 16-2 spell in total for 59-38.

Key stat – In a game with low shooting percentages on both sides, Pride scrapped their way to the win with 29 offensive rebounds resulting in 19 second chance points. In total, they out-rebounded their visitors 60-38.

Game hero – Tricia Oakes dominated the game for the hosts, as one of only two players to get into double-figure scoring. She finished with 20 points, on 50% shooting, and eight rebounds.
