WBBL Championship
Sevenoaks Suns 66 (10,31,51) (Nikitinaite 21, Pedersen 19, Carr 15)
Manchester Mystics 80 (26,39,55) (Browne 19, Jones 17, Bailey 15)

Manchester Mystics returned to winning ways in the league after recording an impressive 66-80 success away at Sevenoaks Suns.

The visitors had four players in double figures as they finished strong to see off the WBBL Trophy finalists with Amy Browne top scoring with 19 points.

Georgia Jones and Rheanne Bailey added 17 and 15 points respectively, while Dominique Allen grabbed 12 boards to go with eight points.

After an even start, the Mystics reeled off 12 successive points to lead 9-23 in the opening period with Jones closing the quarter with another three.

Sevenoaks settled and began the second with an 8-0 run to cut the gap to eight, which would remain the differential heading into half-time.

Manchester re-established their 16-point advantage at 33-49 in the third before another rally from the hosts saw them cut the gap to just four.

However, the Mystics pulled away again in the fourth and this time it was for good as they wrapped up their eighth league win.

Gabby Nikitinaite led her side with 21 points with Cat Carr falling just short of a triple-double with 15 points and 10 assists as well as nine rebounds.

The Suns drop to 8-5 and look ahead to a historic showdown with Leicester Riders in the Trophy Final next Sunday.
