Dominique Allen named Final MVP in historic win

Dominique Allen was named MVP after an impressive performance helped Manchester Mystics make history with their WBBL Cup Final success.

The GB forward went 8-of-10 from the field in a dominant display inside in a 21-point haul whilst completing a double-double with 11 rebounds.

“I’m really shocked,” Allen said post-game. I think there were three or four of us who deserved it as we played really well and I could not have done it without my teammates.

“It’s amazing and especially because it’s here in Birmingham and I’m from Birmingham and a lot of my friends and family are here.

“We worked really hard for this.”

Rheanne Bailey and Georgia Jones also starred as the trio combined for 60 of their side’s 71 points to inspire a first piece of WBBL silverware for the Mystics.

Allen set the tone early for her side with an energetic start at both ends of the floor and played a key defensive role in limiting Ashley Harris.
