Mark Clark was delighted to see his side improve to 2-0 in the WBBL Trophy after beating Oaklands Wolves in front of the BBC Sport cameras.

The Crusaders were led by Imani Whittington’s 27 points in the 82-74 win at the Copper Box Arena as they held off a resilient display from the Wolves, paced by Kyla Nelson’s 33.

“At times we are very good, and we were very, very good in the first quarter,” said Barking Abbey’s head coach.

“We are also a bit up and down and they came back into the game.

“Imani since Christmas has really round her rhythm – she was relaxed and excellent.”

He added: “Everyone knows Kyla Nelson is a top talent and you are never comfortable with Oaklands – they are going to beat someone soon and I’m just glad it wasn’t us today.”

Manchester Mystics continued their winning run as Amy Browne netted 26 points in a 72-60 success at home to Team Northumbria.

Dominique Allen added 21 points in the win, while Georgia Jones dished out 11 assists.
