Great Britain rising star Gabby Nikitinaite has been crowned Molten WBBL Player of the Month for March in recognition of her standout play during recent weeks with Sevenoaks Suns.
The teenager has been a difference-maker for Suns this season and was central to their historic WBBL Trophy triumph last month against Leicester Riders, as they lifted their first ever piece of WBBL silverware.
She was in the shake-up for MVP at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow and that underlined her terrific progress during the campaign which has seen her establish herself as a leading player not only within her own locker room, but right across the league.
Nikitinaite went 29 of 50 from the field in her four outings during March and that 58% from the floor was the second best in the WBBL. She was also top of the free-throw shooting chart with 100% from the line.
Both elements combined to return a fabulous 19.3 points per game, which was sat alongside an equally impressive 8.5 rebounds per game and 2.25 assists per outing.
Nikitinaite fought off competition from Ashley Harris of Nottingham Wildcats and Brittany Winborne of Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters to land the prestigious gong and it also sealed an awards double for Suns, with play-caller Len Busch taking the coaching accolade.
