Sevenoaks Suns’ play-caller Len Busch has been voted the Ed Percival Molten WBBL Coach of the Year in recognition of his team’s highly impressive and productive campaign.

Busch guided Suns to their first ever WBBL silverware back in March when they lifted the WBBL Trophy at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow after beating Leicester Riders in front of a big crowd and the BBC Sport cameras.

Now he is just one step away from making it to The 02 and the British Basketball Play-Off Finals. Leicester Riders stand in the way of Busch and his players on Sunday in the Semi-Finals – a game that will be streamed live via Riders’ Facebook page.

He also propelled Suns to their highest ever league finish as they secured third place with an eye-catching WBBL Championship record.

Busch has built his team’s success around the brilliance of leading light Car Carr, the shooting ability and creativity of guard Renee Busch, the rock solid play of Danish forward Anne Pedersen and a number of exciting British young guns such as Gabby Nikitinaite and Danni Lozzi.

Also named Molten WBBL Coach of the Month for both February and March, Busch takes the prestigious yearly gong after seeing off competition from Dave Greenaway of Nottingham Wildcats and Bart Sengers of Caledonia Pride, who were tied in second place.
