Our favourite annual series continues as we ask WBBL Coaches to identify five players they believe deserve some recognition for their efforts this season.

They may not always be those challenging for awards, but they will have certainly impressed our play-callers. The next callng point is with Great Britain legend and Archers’ player-coach, Stef Collins.
Alex Smith (Leicester Riders)

She has really impressed me with how much she has improved from last season. The way she has lead the team from the PG position after the departure of Georgia Jones has been most influential in their success. She pushes the ball extremely well, which creates easy offence for Leicester. She has shown great consistency in her numbers with scoring, assists, and rebounds.
Amy Browne (Manchester Mystics)

I absolutely enjoy the way Amy plays. She’s smart and reads the game so well off the ball. If you have lost sight of her, then you can be guaranteed she is receiving a pass or making a play for an easy score. She has a well-rounded game which would make a great addition to any team.

Renee Busch (Sevenoaks Suns)

Although Renee joined her former club mid-way through the season, she was a huge lift to the team especially during their Trophy run where she had some impressive numbers which ultimately lead to them winning the Trophy Final. It is great to see a former GB player who has returned after her NCAA stint in America to continue playing and adding value to the league.
Abigail Johnson (Barking Abbey Crusaders)

What a great physical presence in the paint! She knows how to win possession and can establish her position inside so well and claim rebound after rebound. I look forward to seeing her career develop at GB international level and in the States, where she will be joining my alma mater St. Bonaventure University, Go Bonas!
Sarah Thomson (Caledonia Pride)

She often goes under the radar but Sarah was certainly a pivotal player in Caledonia’s stretch of win’s late in the season. She finds ways to come up with clutch shots down the stretch in tight games and as a guard, she has an admirable ability to come up with defensive rebounds.
