There were big wins in the WBBL Championship on Saturday for the teams chasing down the top two.
The third-placed Leicester Riders won the East Midlands derby on the road for the first time in the WBBL, beating Nottingham Wildcats 83-70 behind the performances of Alex Smith and Dee Hayward, to move to 5-1.
Manchester Mystics, now 4-2, had mounted the pressure on the Riders earlier in the day, powering past Oaklands Wolves 69-61 after a dominant first half led by Georgia Jones and Rheanne Bailey.
Finally, Team Northumbria are still in the hunt, in fifth place, after an amazing fourth quarter comeback saw them force overtime at BA London Lions, eventually prevailing 59-53 as Alison Gorrell scored 23 points.
