This week’s line-up contains a couple of seriously special performances from a pair of club teammates.
Stef Collins (Cardiff Met Archers)
The Great Britain legend drops into our starting five for the first time this season and does so in real style, after posting the best individual display of the entire WBBL campaign. Collins rolled back the years against Hatters with a spectacular 35 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and just 1 turnover in 40 minutes.
Georgia Jones (Manchester Mystics)
Another GB guard showing her quality, Jones becomes only the third player this season to seal a third starting appearance after lighting it up in the home clash against Oaklands Wolves. The Mystics’ star was on top form as she amassed a fine 24 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in an all-action performance.
Dee Hayward (Leicester Riders)
The Riders were on fire in their East Midlands derby clash at Wildcats and much of their success was due to some highly productive input from Hayward. The Scottish guard was unstoppable at times and finished the contest with 19 points after a blistering 7 of 8 shooting effort, as well as 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.
Judit Fritz (Sevenoaks Suns)
It’s a second berth of the campaign for the Hungarian forward, having ensured Suns are the only unbeaten team left in the WBBL Championship by taking apart Caledonia Pride with 22 points. Those were accrued from a fine 10 of 17 shooting effort and Fritz also mustered 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
Merissa Quick (Cardiff Met Archers)
While Collins had the best display of the WBBL season so far, Quick was only just pipped to that particular accomplishment, after recording a majestic line of her own against Sheffield. The frontcourt star went for a huge double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds, also handing out a stylish six assists.
