Near triple-double from Carr helps Suns stay perfect.

Caledonia Pride 56-59 Sevenoaks Suns (15-19, 30-28, 44-39)

Sevenoaks Suns kept their 100% league record in tact after surviving on the road against Caledonia Pride.

The visitors trailed for the majority of the second half, but produced a strong finish with Cat Carr starring in the victory.

Turning point – Pride controlled the middle periods as they held the league leaders to 20 points, but a tense finale ensued with both teams trading the lead in the final quarter. Carr broke a 56-56 tie with 1:10 to go and then went 1 of 2 from the line late on with Julia Koppl’s offensive board sealing the victory. 

Key stat – While their offence struggled in the second and third quarters, Sevenoaks executed when it mattered and with 20 points in the fourth, they matched their combined total from those middle periods.

Game hero(es) – Cat Carr finished one assist shy of an impressive triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists as well as the go-ahead basket to help Suns to victory.
