Sevenoaks Suns became the last team to seal their place in the last four of the WBBL Trophy as they defeated BA London Lions.
The Suns set a showdown with Caledonia Pride as they claimed their second victory in the pool in what was the decider to progress.
Leading scorers – Fritz 15, Carr 13, Clarke 12 (Suns) – Willis 17, Ellmore 16, Adeyinka 6 (Lions)
Turning point – The home side started brightly to lead by nine after 10 minutes and they continued their stretch their advantage to leave no way back for the Lions. However, they did make a 13-0 start to the fourth as they held Sevenoaks to single figures in the final period.
Key stat – Suns controlled the battle on the board with over 50 rebounds in the contest and they benefited from the visitors’ 19 turnovers.
Game hero(es) – Four players in double figures, led by Judit Fritz’ 15 points, while Cat Carr had an all-round display with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists in the win.
