In an exciting day in the WBBL Championship, there have been significant movements in the league table, particularly at the summit after a buzzer-beating winner.
That came from Brea Elmore of Leicester Riders, as her late heroics saw them beat title rivals Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters 74-71 on a last gasp three-pointer to temporarily leapfrog Sevenoaks Suns at the top of the table.
Just behind them, there was almost a pair of miraculous triple-doubles as Nottingham Wildcats moved clear of Manchester Mystics in fourth place, beating their rivals 78-70 with Jasmine Joyner scoring 19 points to go with a huge 23 rebounds and nine blocked shots; while Chelsey Shumpert led the scoring with 26 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
At the other end of the table, Oaklands Wolves are off the bottom after an 82-74 win against fellow Play-off chasers Durham Palatinates, with Roya Rustamzada scoring 21 points to go with nine rebounds and four assists.
Meanwhile, Caledonia Pride did some leapfrogging of their own in midtable after a big 84-53 win saw them jump over opponents Cardiff Met Archers, and Newcastle Eagles, into sixth place as Tia Weledji scored 26 points.
Finally, BA London Lions took a big step towards the Play-off places after a 50-81 win over Essex Rebels – who now sit at the foot of the table – as Loren Christie scored 20 points.
