Riders Reach Trophy Final, Big Day in Championship

Leicester Riders have qualified for the WBBL Trophy Final while, with the top two out of action in the BBL Championship, we now have three teams level on 24 points at the top of the table.

Riders came through overtime to beat Sevenoaks Suns 70-65 as Brea Elmore scored crucial late baskets on her way to 21 points, setting up a Trophy Final clash with Durham Palatinates on Sunday 10 March at Emirates Arena in Glasgow.

In the Championship, Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters took advantage of those two not being in action to join them at the top of the table, beating BA London Lions 75-59 as Sarah Toeaina scored 24 points to go with 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Manchester Mystics made it three wins out of four to move up to fourth as Samantha Roscoe poured in 29 points in an 85-66 defeat of Caledonia Pride.

Not far behind them, Oaklands Wolves are up to seventh after a crucial 77-66 win over sixth-placed Newcastle Eagles in the Play-off race, with Roya Rustamzada unstoppable in scoring 25 points, adding 10 rebounds and 6 steals.

Finally, Cardiff Met Archers have taken a step closer to the Play-off spots after holding on for a vital 60-58 win on the road at fourth-placed Nottingham Wildcats as Sarah Wagstaff scored 17 points.
