Durham Palatinates are very excited to announce that Betsy MacDonald will be returning to the club for a second season whilst she completes her Masters in Education.

MacDonald has already shown what she can do with some big offensive displays and was a central player for the Palatinates last year.

Speaking about what she can bring to the team she said: “I believe I bring positive energy every day to both practice and games.

“I am an adaptable player, so I adjust to what the team needs, whether that is handling the ball up the court, creating shots for other teammates, or providing a scoring presence with my shooting ability.”

MacDonald was a big part of Lee Davie’s side who made it to the Betty Codona WBBL Trophy Final in Glasgow last season and this year she looks to do one better.

She declared: “Getting back to the Trophy Final and winning would be a great achievement. But also, my aim is to grow as an individual player on both sides of the ball, contributing to what the team needs.

“We want to work together by getting to know each other’s strengths so that we are able to make playoffs and get as far as we can in WBBL Championship.”

Palatinates are thrilled to have MacDonald back in a Durham shirt for the 2019-20 season and believe there aren’t many players around in the WBBL that combine her ability to handle the ball, with the footwork and shooting that she also possesses.
