Great Britain guard Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott is returning to home soil after playing overseas in college at Toledo and then professionally in Spain.

Bravo-Harriett previously represented Great Britain at the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2015 and formed an impressive collegiate career – helping Toledo to the MAC title in 2017 ad averaging 11.4 points per game over 127 appearances in the NCAA.

“I’m excited to be playing back in the UK again,” said Bravo-Harriott.

“I went overseas for the last five years and I really missed my family and friends here. But now, I’ll be playing only a couple of hours from home and for a great team.”

Bravo-Harriott will be combing playing with studying at Loughborough’s School of Business and Economics for the upcoming season and competing in BUCS play for the Loughborough Women’s team under Coach Jesper Sundberg.

Bravo-Harriott continued: “It’s such a win-win signing. I’ll be playing for one of the best teams in the UK and attending one of the best universities academically and sport-related. I’m excited for this opportunity.

Since leaving the country, the WBBL has formed and thrived ahead of the season she player is excited to get started.

“The WBBL is still quite new to me. I’ve heard about it, read a few articles here and there, but I’m happy that there’s a platform for women to play at a high level in the UK. I look forward to now being part of the league,” she concluded.

Leicester Riders open the season tomorrow on the road in Essex taking on the Oaklands Wolves at the WBBL opening weekend.
