Essex Rebels today confirmed British guard Megan Haines will return to the club for the 2021-22 season.

Haines was a late signing for the Rebels last year and returns to the squad for what will be her second season and will look to play an important role this coming season.

Haines will also be attending the University of Essex where she will continue her education studying for an undergraduate degree in sports and exercise science.

“I’m looking forward to another season with the Essex rebels and joining the university,” said Haines. “We have a great team and have built a great culture and am looking forward to seeing us getting stronger as the season goes on.”

Tom Sadler, Head of Basketball Performance added, “Megan was a solid signing for us last year coming into the programme at December and did a great job to adapt and fit into the team.

“We are thrilled that she has decided to study her undergraduate degree at the University of Essex, being one of the country’s top Junior player we look forward to working with her as she transitions into the senior age group.”
