It was another exciting of WBBL action this Saturday with Mystics, Suns, Riders and Hatters all picking up wins including two dominant performances from the road team and two close games.
In Manchester to start the day off, the Archers started brightly but Manchester quickly replied with two threes from Anna Sheaia to ignite the home side, taking them into the quarter break up 21-17. More of the same from the Archers in the second, going on a 14-6 run and a 2 point lead to finish the half up 41-39 led by Shannon Hatch who led all scorers at the break with 13pts and 7reb. However, in the 3rd quarter Georgia Jones came to life hitting some important three point shots ending up with 22pts on the game and leading her team to their 3rd win of the season.
It was a tale of two halves at Oaklands, limiting Sevenoaks Suns to just 7 points in the 1st quarter, Sevenoaks came out firing in the second and it was all Suns since then winning the game 48-73, led by Renee Busch with 23 points and her counterpart, Cat Carr tallying 16 points along with 15 rebounds.
A similar game in Newcastle as the winless Newcastle Eagles faced Leicester Riders, Eagles started brightly with Horton scoring 7pts in the first quarter leading the eagles to an early 7 point lead, but once Leciester took the lead courtesy of a Louise Rouise three in the third, Leicester just kept on going running out winners in a 8pt contest.
Over in Nottingham, the Sheffield Hatters showed their dominance from minute one against the Nottingham Wildcats led by Rebecca Cardenas with 16pts and 7reb who led her team to a 57-81 victory, remaining unbeaten and seeing themselves atop the table.
