London Lions’ incredible FIBA EuroCup adventure came to an end as they were bested by an impressive Tango Bourges side in France on Wednesday evening.

The Lions travelled to Bourges with a one-point advantage over the 2016 EuroCup Champions but faced a stern test from the three-time Euroleague winners on their own patch.

Bourges started the game on the front foot and took a commanding lead into halftime, led by Keisha Hampton’s impressive 19 first half points. Cassie Breen’s five personal in the first quarter sparked some life into the Lions, however Bourges continued to pile the pressure on London going into the break.

The Lions improved defensively in the third period however struggled to make any inroads on what was already a sizeable Bourges lead, as Les Tangos enjoyed a comfortable home win to progress to the last 16.

Hampton led all scorers with 22 points for Bourges, whilst Azania Stewart led the Lions with 13 points and eight rebounds.
