Caledonia Gladiators have confirmed Sophie Loughran to their WBBL roster for the 2022-23 season.

Sophie worked hard as a young athlete, gaining experience in the WBBL as part of the Caledonia Pride programme.

“We are delighted that Sophie will join our WBBL team roster,” said Lisa Palombo, Head of Operations.

“Sophie started her basketball journey with us as a twelve-year-old and it’s great that she’s playing with us this season after gaining valuable experience in the WBBL with Caledonia Pride.

“Sophie is the ultimate role model for any future Caledonia Gladiator as she has shown how starting basketball at your local club can lead to playing at the highest level.

We have no doubt that she will make an important contribution to the team, both on and off the court.”

Sophie added, “I’m really excited to be back playing at the club I grew up in. It’s an amazing opportunity and can’t wait for the season to start.”
