As the WBBL heads into its holiday season break, get yourself prepared for our return in 2023 with a cracking weekend of women’s basketball.

16 elite teams across the UK will make their way to University of Essex, Colchester, in early January, to compete in the WBBL Trophy First Round hoping of making it one step closer to the Trophy Finals to be crowned the WBBL Trophy Winner 2023.

For the first time in WBBL Trophy history there will be four WNBL Division 1 teams competing alongside 12 WBBL teams.

The matchups for the weekend are:

Brent Bulls v London Lions – 11:00am
Durham Palatinates v Cardiff Met Archers – 1:30pm
Essex Rebels v Sevenoaks Suns – 4:00pm
Caledonia Gladiators v Thames Valley Cavaliers – 6:30pm

Sunday 8th January 2023
Oaklands Wolves v Leicester Riders – 11:00am
Manchester Met Mystics v COLA Southwark Pride – 1:30pm
Newcastle Eagles v Nottingham Wildcats – 4:00pm
Sheffield Hatters v Ipswich Basketball – 6:30pm
