Oaklands Wolves have signed Caterrion Thompson for the 2023/24 League season.
The 5’9” guard from Lima, Ohio, becomes the eighth signing for the Wolves as they continue to build out their roster.
A dynamic scorer, she will add some serious firepower to the Wolves’ backcourt. Last season, she topped the scoring charts with Finnish side Forssain, averaging 18.1 points per game along with 6.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Prior to her time in Finland, Thompson played at Bowling Green State before transferring for two years at Mississippi State; another member of the NCAA 1000-point club she averaged 8.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in SEC play.
On Thompson’s addition, Wolves’ Head Coach Lee Ryan said:
“Ri is a big signing for us! She comes in with great experience at the highest level and in her year last season in Finland she showed how well she can adapt to European basketball. She offers us a lot of different options and will help us connect the different pieces we have on the roster. I’m excited to work with her!”
Looking ahead to the start of the season, Thompson added:
“I’m excited for this opportunity. I plan to make an immediate impact for the Wolves. I’m looking forward to getting to know my teammates and playing together with them on the court. We have a lot of potential to do good things this season and I’m excited for our future together.”
