What are the rules of the Three-Point Contest?
In the Three-Point Contest, each participant will have the opportunity to sink 25 shots from various locations beyond the arc. Here’s a breakdown of the format:
Shot Locations:
Players will attempt shots from five different locations:
- Right-wing baseline
- Right-wing 45-degree angle
- Top of the arc
- Left-wing 45-degree angle
- Left-wing baseline
Shot Values: Each rack contains four official League game balls and one golden “money ball”. League game balls are worth three points each, while the golden “money ball” is worth six points. This means there’s a total of 90 points up for grabs.
Shooting Procedure: Players must exhaust the ball racks and pedestals in competition order before moving on to the next shooting location. Additionally, the golden “money ball” can only be shot after the four League balls are attempted. Players have 75 seconds to complete their round.
Shooting Rules: Players must adhere to the rules regarding the three-point line; they cannot start on or over the line while shooting, or the basket will not count.
