It was a slim week of SLB action due to the Cup Final between Oaklands Wolves and B. Braun Sheffield Hatters, but three games still impacted the standings on International Women’s Day.

Newcastle Eagles 81-66 Caledonia Gladiators

Newcastle Eagles created some breathing space between them and fifth-placed Caledonia Gladiators by beating their Scottish counterparts 81-66 on Tyneside.

After a closely contested first quarter, the hosts broke the game open with an 11-0 start to the second that broke the game open, and even though the Gladiators narrowed the gap to as little as six points, they were unable to get closer.

Tierra Hodges paced Newcastle with 20 points and seven rebounds, supported by 19 from Abby Lowe.

Kirsty Brown had 21 points to lead Caledonia.

Manchester Basketball 112-46 Nottingham Wildcats

A 57-14 second half rout handed Manchester Basketball a resounding 112-46 win over Nottingham Wildcats at the National Basketball Performance Centre.

The hosts led from tip to final buzzer with the lead peaking at 66 points as Davida Dale stood out amongst seven Manchester players, who scored in double digits.

Dale recorded her second straight triple-double, posting 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. The American was one steal shy of quadruple-double in a devastating display of dominance.

Anastasia Warren led the victors with 20 points. Erin Antosh had 20 points for Nottingham.

Cardiff Met Archers 68-64 Durham Palatinates

Cardiff Met Archers made it three wins in a row as they edged Durham Palatinates 68-64 in South Wales.

The Archers led for the majority in a physical contest as Connie Clark secured a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead four Cardiff players in double figures.
