The Final round of group fixtures in the 2025/26 Betty Codona Trophy served up an exciting five-game slate, as the B. Braun Sheffield Hatters and Essex Rebels aimed to complete the group stage with their unbeaten records intact.
Oaklands Wolves managed back-to-back victories against Cardiff Met Archers and Leicester Riders to conclude their group stage campaign while Essex Rebels and B. Braun Sheffield Hatters remained unbeaten with two dominant wins.
Leicester Riders 54-92 Essex Rebels
The Essex Rebels dominated the Leicester Riders 92-54 on the road at the Netball Centre to remain unbeaten across four games in the Betty Codona Trophy 2025-26.
Rhema Ogele recorded an impressive 19-point, 11-rebound double-double off the bench to lead her side to victory, while Paige Meyer and Quinesha Lockett contibuted for 13 and 12 points respectively.
Both teams were evenly matchted in the earles stages of the first quarter, before the Rebels produced a 15-0 run to take a commanding lead.
They maintained their dominance on both ends of the floor, holding their opponents to just four points in the second quarter while extending their lead to 31 points at halftime.
They comfortably saw out the second half to register their fourth consecutive win to start the 2025-26 Betty Codona Trophy campaign.

Oaklands Wolves 118-50 Cardiff Met Archers
The Oaklands Wolves delivered an impressive collective display on their way to a dominant 118-50 home victory against the Cardiff Met Archers at Oaklands Sportszone.
Anissa Pounds delivered a game-high 22 points off the bench, in an efficient shooting display, going 8-10 from the field. Meanwhile, Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant recorded an impressive 15-point, 12-rebound outing off the bench in the victory.
The Wolves took control of the game early thanks to a 7-0 run to open the game. The hosts never trailed in the game, dominating on both ends of the floor from start to finish. Their offence flowed smoothly while their defensive intensity left no chance to the Archers to mount a comeback. By halftime, the result was effectively sealed, as the Wolves didn’t take their foot off the gas, showcasing their superiority throughout the contest.
The victory improved their record to 2-1 while the Archers remain winless after four games in the Betty Codona Trophy.

B. Braun Sheffield Hatters 114-43 Nottingham Wildcats
The B. Braun Sheffield Hatters ended their 2025/26 Betty Codona Trophy group stage campaign unbeaten after an emphatic 114-43 home victory against the Nottingham Wildcats at the Canon Medical Arena.
Led by Emma Gandini, who delivered a stellar performance on both ends of the floor with 28 points, six rebounds and eight steals, the team secured another impressive victory. Additionally, Grace Graham off the bench and Antoinette Lewis each contributed for 19 points in the win.
The Hatters built their convincing win on the back of a strong defensive display, holding their opponents to fewer than 10 points in multiple quarters. Nonetheless, the Wildcats refused to go down without a fight, battling hard until the final buzzer.

Leicester Riders 44-78 Oaklands Wolves
The Oaklands Wolves defeated the Leicester Riders 78-44 to secure back-to-back victories in their last Betty Codona Trophy 2025-26 group stage game at Netball Centre.
Leslia Finau scored a game-high 17 points, going 6-7 from the field in an efficient shooting display, as the Wolves secured the second spot of the South group. Moreover, Shanice Beckford-Norton contributed for 11 points off the bench in the win.
The first quarter was a hard-fought battle between the two sides, with neither team able to establish a comfortable lead. However, fuelled by their defence, the vistors managed to pull away at the end of the second quarter after holding the Riders to just six points in the period.
The hosts came out strong after the break and quickly cut their double-digit deficit to six early in the third quarter. Yet, the Wolves weathered the storm before taking a decisive lead on the back of a 14-0 run. The visitors then cruised to victory in the fourth to claim their third group stage win as well as the second spot.

Newcastle Eagles 67-74 Caledonia Gladiators
The Caledonia Gladiators claimed a hard-fought 74-67 away victory over the Newcastle Eagles at the Vertu Arena to secure the second place in the North Group of the Betty Codona Trophy.
Despite Maria Mongomo’s game-high 21 points, the Eagles were unable to come out on top in this crucial matchup. Tierra Hodges delivered a remarkable performance finishing with 17 points and nine rebounds to lead her side to victory, while Hannah Robb contributed for 14 points. The hosts started strong in a back-and-forth opening quarter, pulling ahead by five points at the end of the period.
However, the Gladiators clawed their way back into the game on the back of an improved collective defensive effort, taking the lead midway through the second quarter. But, Mongomo sank an incredible three-pointer in the dying seconds of the period to give the Eagles a one-point advantage at the break.
heldNonetheless, the Gladiators managed to regain control of the game in the second half and, despite the Eagles’ best efforts, the visitors held onto their lead to see out the contest and finish the group stage on a high note.
