Oaklands Wolves have moved ahead of the deadline to sign Meg Pritchard for the remainder of the WBBL season.

The 5ft 11in Australian wing will add much needed firepower to the Wolves as they pursue a Play-Off berth in their second WBBL campaign.

Pritchard, a native of Adelaide, South Australia, joins the Wolves from Australian Basketball League team Norwood Flames. Prior to Norwood, she graduated with distinction from Pfeiffer University in 2017 after spending three years at the NCAA D2 outfit.

“I’m excited to gain some experience in a new country and a new league,” commented Pritchard.

“I’ve heard good things about the WBBL and its growth. I feel like I’ll fit very well with Oaklands and the game plan they have. I look forward to helping them move up the league table and it’s an incredible opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get started,” she added.

Pritchard led Pfeiffer in scoring all of her three years at the college after transferring from Northeastern Junior College as a freshman. With scoring averages of 17.6 points per game in her senior season and a career total of 1182 points in 78 games, she has a proven record and will be one to watch for the rest of the WBBL season.

“We have known about Meg for some time and her desire to play in the UK,” explained Wolves’ head coach, Lee Ryan.

“We are excited to get her here for the rest of the season as she has a lot to give on court and around the Academy.

“Her athleticism and character are a perfect fit for our playing style and her scoring punch will be valuable to help us achieve our targets for the year.”

Pritchard will make her debut this Saturday, when Wolves host Durham at Oaklands College in a 3.45pm tip-off.
