Cristina Bigica is looking forward to a WBBL debut with Cardiff Met Archers will see a very familiar face in the locker room after it was confirmed the former Bristol Flyers standout was making the hop into Wales this season.

Prolific for her former club, the Marquette alumni who is also a skilled 3×3 player, is excited to be able to test herself in the top tier and will be reunited with her fellow Romanian and Archers’ Associate Head Coach, Alex Radu.

“I’m looking forward to joining a new team, meeting all the new teammates, along with moving to and discovering a new city,” said Bigica.

“I’m really looking forward to playing in the WBBL at the highest level after playing in the WNBL and winning the National League Regular Season championship with Bristol Flyers.

“In addition, it will be great to work with my former national team coach Alex Radu and I’m hopeful for a great (and healthy) season.”

Meanwhile Coach Radu commented: “As a coach, re-connecting with previous players is always great. It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with and coach Cristina again after the time we spent a few years ago with Romanian National team.

“Her competitive attitude, combined with her solid defense and scoring ability will further strengthen our existing squad.”
