Carr ready to end regular-season on a high as Suns eye Championship

The final round of the regular-season is upon us and it looks set to be a classic. Sevenoaks Suns can lift the Championship title on Saturday with victory on the road against Manchester Mystics.

Entering the contest with an identical record (18-1) to Leicester Riders, the side from Sevenoaks hold the crucial head-to-head advantage.

“Nothing changes for us,” began Cat Carr.

“Our preparation remains the same.

“Our philosophy has always been to take everything one game at a time.

“Every training session we look to challenge ourselves and push each other to get better, no matter what stage of the season we are at.

“We’ve been able to be successful as a unit because we practice like we play – with a competitive edge.

“This weekend we’ll look to close the season out on a high.

“The Mystics have some great players so it will be up to our defence to slow them down.

“As always, we want to combine that with solid team defence and keep the ball moving on offense.

“If we can do that we will put ourselves in the best possible position to end the season on the right note.”

Elsewhere, Caledonia Pride hosts Durham Palatinates in a game that could have serious implications.

The visitors can still claim a post-season place, but to stand a chance victory in Edinburgh on Saturday and at home to Oaklands Wolves on Sunday is a must.

BA London Lions then take on Cardiff Met Archers, before Manchester Mystics do battle with Sevenoaks Suns.

Should the Suns fail to record a win; Leicester Riders can snatch the Championship title on Sunday with an away victory against Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters.

The final game of the weekend sees Nottingham Wildcats and BA London Lions take to the court to round out the regular-season schedule.
