She finished the period with some impressive stats right across the board, shooting the lights out with 60% from the field to return 12.7 points per game. That also became a double-double with 10.3 rebounds per game, as well as handing out a wonderful 6.7 assists and grabbing an average of 2.7 steals.

Meanwhile Gorrell was just as effective and productive for Team Northumbria during an injury ravaged month for the north-east side, with the swingman almost playing on one-leg and through the pain barrier to help her team sneak an absorbing win at Caledonia Pride.

As well as showing courage and commitment to the team, Gorrell also did the business by putting numbers on the board with a dazzling 21 points per game – the best in the league during January. She also led the league in rebounding with 12.7 boards per outing as well, completing a fine monthly double-double.
