Ella Clark will be returning to the court after two seasons away from the game of basketball, after playing professionally with Loughborough Lightning Netball and England Netball.
The Great Britain international will be on court in a Riders jersey this season competing in the WBBL after a hiatus from the game. Clark has also previously represented Great Britain in basketball and played overseas in Europe and so is looking forward to returning to the sport.
“I am excited to have this opportunity to return to basketball with one of the best teams in the country,”commented the Great Britain Senior.
“It’s been 2 years since I last played. I took a break after doing my ACL, and I’ve missed it a lot, which is the main reason for trying to get back in to playing.”
Leicester Riders will work closely with Loughborough Lightning (the two teams share an office in Loughborough) to manage Clark’s workload and playing commitments as the seasons begin to clash from February onwards.
Clark acknowledges that the ability to combine both her sporting passions creates a great situation for her in the coming season.
She continued: “With the added perk of being able to continue playing Superleague Netball it was a great option for me. I’m looking forward to brushing off the cobwebs and getting back on the court with a great group of people and most importantly winning!”
