London Lions started their Play-Off push with a dominant performance over Durham Palatinates on Saturday afternoon.

With the first seed playing host to the eighth seed, the Lions made home advantage count as they continued their commanding WBBL season.

London controlled the game from the early stages, and an 11-0 Lions run set the tone as the WBBL Champions turned the screw early. The Lions’ dominance on the offensive end translated into their defensive effort, with the Palatinates held to only eight points in the entire first half.

Durham’s shooting struggles continued throughout the half, shooting only 2-26 from the field and all three of their second quarter points coming from the free throw line.

The Palatinates improved in the third quarter, and even embarked on a 13-0 run of their own as they looked to close the gap between them and London.

The Lions’ first half dominance ultimately took its toll, with a near insurmountable lead seeing them through to the Semi-Finals.

Jo Leedham-Warner led the Lions 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists, whilst Azania Stewart had a dominant double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds.
