Eight teams will take to the court on Saturday as the Championship returns with a bang.

BA London Lions will hope to record victory for the first time this season as Caledonia Pride visit the capital.

“I’ve no doubt we can be competitive this weekend and give ourselves an opportunity to pull off our first win,” enthused Lions forward Christina Gaskin.

“As a relatively young team, we need to learn how to close out games. But we’re making strides and working hard reviewing film and perfecting our offensive and defensive sets.

“Last season when we played Caledonia they came out with a lot of energy. In my opinion, Caledonia play with more energy and persistence than any other team in the league.

“The key for us this weekend will be to focus on what we can control, take care of the small details and stay true to the strategy we’ve put together.”

The road team enter the weekend on a high having secured a historic semi-finals berth in the Cup.

After a standout performance, Rosanna Reynolds is keen for Caledonia Pride to maintain the momentum earned in Manchester.

“We were really excited about the win last weekend. It definitely boosted our confidence and allowed us to see that we can compete with anyone in the league, if we give it our all and show up each game.”

The rookie guard has made an instant impact for the Scottish franchise and the Detroit Titans alumni is having fun on court.

“I’ve enjoyed getting to know and play with my teammates.

“The league is competitive and physical; anyone can win any given night. It’s exciting to compete against some really good women, on a weekly basis.”

Elsewhere, Oaklands Wolves welcome Nottingham Wildcats before Manchester Mystics faceoff against Leicester Riders.

At the same time, Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters host Sevenoaks Suns in a mouth-watering top of the table clash to round out the weekend. Both sides will be determined to avenge the disappointment of defeat in the Cup.
