Caledonia Gladiators‘ iron wall defence helped seal the victory over Durham Palatinates as they won 41-69 moving them to joint top of the table.
First Half
The Gladiators pounced first after a missed shot from the Palatinates early on into the first quarter.
Thanks to a brilliant performance from Hannah Robb, scoring 13 points in the first quarter herself. She helped the team from Scotland create a 13-point buffer.
The second quarter saw less action as there were frequent turnovers in possessions from both teams, as well as missed shots.
This led to a quiet quarter with the Gladiators extending their lead at the end of the half to 17 points.
Second Half
For Durham, they had a big challenge ahead of them in the penultimate quarter, but the same story continued from the first half.
The rock-solid wall that Caledonia Gladiators constructed around their hoop was almost impenetrable, helping them to establish a 28-point advantage over the Palatinates.
The final quarter saw the best performance from the Palatinates, but it proved to little too late, as the Gladiators kept their 28-point advantage to win the game 41-69.
Player of the Game
Hannah Robb’s fabulous first quarter performance helped get the victory today for Caledonia Gladiators, with an impressive total of 19 points for the game to her name.

Manchester Giants’ long trip down to the South West paid off as they won against Cardiff Met Archers, who remain winless this season still.
First Half
The Archers were looking to get their first win of the Championship, and they took a one-point lead over the Giants at the end of the first quarter after Jenna Hoschouer converted her free throw with one second left on the clock.
But the Welsh team could not keep up with the Giants to replicate what they did in the previous quarter, as the Giants took control of the game and pulled out an eight-point gap heading into the second half.
Second Half
The Giants were not going to make this easy for the Archers, as they scored within the first 30 seconds of the second half starting.
But with help from Haylee Saurette, the Archers stayed in the game reducing that advantage to only five points heading into the final quarter.
Both teams went full attack and traded buckets, and Abigail Yunker and Idil Turk were unstoppable for their representative teams.
Sadly it was not meant to be for the Archers as they remain winless as they lost 73-82 to the Giants with a nine-point advantage in their favour.
Player of the Game
Idil Turk produced with an impressive final quarter performance, denying the Archers their first victory of the season with a game total of 24 points.

Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles closed the gap between them and the top half of the table with an impressive win against Essex Rebels, ending the home side’ seven game win streak.
First Half
After the long drive down to Essex, Newcastle were first out of the blocks, setting the tone early on by scoring 30 points, with an 11-point advantage.
The Rebels answered back in the second quarter closing the
gap to only 4 points at the end of the half.
This would have not been possible without Megan Haines’s strong end to the
first half, having scored 6 points in quick successions helping the Rebels bring
the score line to 43-47.
Second Half
Newcastle dynamic duo of Katie Nolan and Tierra Hodges kept the scoreline in check for the Eagles and helped double their lead to eight points in the second to last quarter.
The dynamic duo continued to run riot amongst the Rebel’s defence, as they put the game to bed after scoring 12 points between them in the final quarter.
This led to the Eagles’ advantage being doubled once again to a 16-point lead at the end of the game making the final score 72-88 in Newcastle’s favour.
Player of the Game
Newcastle’s Katie Nolan provided aerial threat and scoring, helping them achieve this impressive win. This is evident by her impressive stats 26 points, 13 rebounds and an assist.

Nottingham Wildcats are back to winning ways after a five-game losing streak, as they put on a second-half comeback against Oaklands Wolves winning 85-80
First Half
Oakland won the jump ball and started on the front foot with the early momentum within the game.
They built on that early momentum and gave themselves a seven-point cushion at the end of the first quarter to the Wildcats.
In the second quarter, the game swung back and forth between the two teams. The Wolves trying to keep their six-point advantage intact.
But two late two-point shots from the Wildcats saw this gap come down to one point at the end of the second half.
Second Half
The second half started similarly to the first. The Wolves took an early lead once again and built up a four-point gap between them and the Wildcats.
But as they have done throughout the game, the Wildcats made a comeback later on in the quarters and closed the gap.
However, this time they took the lead and built a four-point buffer between them and the Wolves.
Two early three-pointers from Nottingham helped them maintain their lead despite another fast start from Oakland Wolves.
But this time the Wolves could not keep pace in the middle of the quarter as the Wildcats pulled out to a 12-point lead.
The Wolves tried to fight back but that points gap was too big of a challenge to overcome this late into the game.
Nottingham Wildcats won with a five-point advantage over Oakland Wolves.
Player of the Game
Valerie Cassidy De Falco’s scoring across the game helped the Wildcats make a comeback and secure the victory today.
