The Super League Basketball Championship offered fans a four-game slate to open the new year.
B. Braun Sheffield Hatters 73-53 London Lions
The B. Braun Sheffield Hatters secured a comfortable 73-53 home win over the London Lions at the Canon Medical Arena, ending London’s two-game winning streak.
A strong finish in the opening quarter saw the Hatters take a double-digit lead over the Lions. Despite a strong response in the second period from London, the hosts carried a 12-point advantage into the break.
Sheffield then perfectly controlled the second half, claiming a comfortable home win — their fifth of the Championship campaign.
Megan Mullings delivered an outstanding performance to lead her side to victory with an 18-point, 13-rebound, five assists double-double, while Nina Krisper had a game-high 21 points. Mya Proctor scored 19 points for London.

Newcastle Eagles 57-66 Oaklands Wolves
A strong third quarter display helped the Oaklands Wolves secure a 66-57 win over the Newcastle Eagles at the Vertu Arena.
After a solid first half, the Eagles took a nine-point lead into the break. However, the Wolves surged back in the third quarter, fuelled by their defence as they held the Eagles to just six points. Oaklands then saw out the game with a controlled fourth-quarter display.
Danielle McCray delivered a dominant double-double performance with a team-high 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Lavinia Da Silva had 14 points and seven rebounds in the win. For the Eagles, Andrea Daley had 14 points.

Essex Rebels 96-78 Nottingham Wildcats
The Essex Rebels secured a comfortable 96-78 home win over the Nottingham Wildcats at the Essex Sports Arena.
After a tight contest in the opening period, the Rebels took command with a strong second quarter display, heading into the break with a 12-point advantage. Essex then dominated the second half and cruised to a comfortable win, claiming their sixth of the campaign and fifth consecutive.
Quinesha Lockett led her side to victory with a 15-point, eight-rebound and five-assist all-round performance while Olivia Forster had a team-high 16 points, going 6-of-7 shooting.
Despite Johannah Langbehn’s 28-point, 10-rebound double-double, the Wildcats were not able to secure their first win of the campaign.

Caledonia Gladiators 101-66 Leicester Riders
The Caledonia Gladiators secured a six straight victory as they cruised to a 101-66 home victory over the Leicester Riders at Playsport Arena.
A 17-6 run in the final four minutes of the opening quarter set the Gladiators on their way to a comfortable victory. The hosts never took their foot off the gas in a dominant display to claim their first win of 2026 as they remain at the top of the table.
Tierra Hodges delivered another dominant performance to lead the Gladiators to their sixth win of the season with 22 points and nine rebounds. Jada Holland scored 17 points for the Riders.
