Sheffield Hatters beat Gloucester City Queens 109-56 to move to the top of the WBBL Championship on Sunday evening.
The visitors got off to an electric start, scoring 30 points in a fast-paced opening quarter to lead Gloucester 30-15.
In the second quarter, Hatters extended their lead again. They scored 23 points in the period whilst limiting Queens to just 12 to lead 53-27 at the halftime break with the game all but out of sight for the home side.
Gloucester improved in the third quarter as they looked to work their way into the game. They scored 19 points in a resilient quarter however Hatters continued to outscore their opponents. The away side scored 22 points to lead 75-46 going into the last quarter.
Hatters continued to get better as the game came to a close. In a one-sided fourth quarter, they scored 34 points to hit triple digits as they wrapped up a dominant performance that sees them move to the top of the WBBL Championship with London Lions and Sevenoaks Suns not in league action this weekend as they faced each other in the WBBL Trophy Final.
Helen Naylor led the scoring with a game-high 25 points for Hatters while Claire Abbott was the standout performer for Queens with 14 points
