Manchester Basketball have continued to shape their roster ahead of the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season with the return of Maaja Bratka alongside the additions of British centre Maya Price and guard Macy Cook.
Bratka returns to Manchester for a second season after an outstanding first campaign with the club. The Estonian international averaged 15.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in 2025/26, earning the club’s Most Valuable Player award.
The experienced forward has enjoyed a career across Europe, with spells in Spain, France, Germany and Italy, as well as Leicester Riders, where she began her professional career.
“I’m really happy to be returning to Manchester for another season,” said Bratka. “I’m looking forward to continuing where we left off last season. Excited to see familiar faces and meet new friends! Let’s play some basketball.”
Head Coach Oli Parr welcomed Bratka’s return, adding: “It’s great having Maaja back in Manchester. Her knowledge and experience of the game is really going to be beneficial to our group.”
Joining Bratka in Manchester is British centre Price, who brings significant experience of the league and European competition to the roster.
The 6’2” centre is a familiar face to Super League Basketball fans, having previously represented London Lions and Caledonia Gladiators. Price was part of the Lions’ EuroCup-winning squad during the 2023/24 season before moving to Caledonia in 2024/25.
A GB international, Price spent three seasons at Eckerd College in the United States, where she averaged 14.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game and was named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year.
Price spent the 2025/26 season in Australia with SC Phoenix, averaging 14.1 points and 6.9 rebounds across 31 appearances.
“I’m really excited to be joining Manchester for this upcoming season,” said Price. “It’s a club with big ambitions, so I’m looking forward to getting to work with the team and coaching staff. I can’t wait to get started and have a great season together.”
Parr is excited to see Price return to the league, saying: “I’m excited to see Maya Price back in the league. Coming off a great season, we’re keen to see what we can achieve this year together.”
Completing the trio of additions is guard Cook, who makes the move to Manchester after four seasons with the Nottingham Wildcats.
Cook progressed into the Wildcats’ senior roster after impressing through the club’s academy and now begins a new chapter with Manchester, alongside her studies at Manchester Metropolitan University.
“I am super excited to start a new chapter here in Manchester!” said Cook. “I can’t wait to meet the team and see what we can achieve this season.”
Parr added: “Having Macy part of MCR alongside studying at MMU provides a lot of energy and further depth to the team.”
With Bratka returning alongside the additions of Price and Cook, Manchester Basketball continue to put the pieces in place ahead of the new Super League Basketball Women’s campaign.
