Nagy confident Wolves can continue winning run

The Championship returns with a bang this weekend with ten teams taking to the court, over three days of thrilling competition.

Leicester Riders welcome Nottingham Wildcats on Friday to begin the weekend’s schedule. The contest can be viewed live via BBC Sport.

On Saturday, Oaklands Wolves take on BA London Lions. The side from Hertfordshire are in the midst of a terrific run, having secured three consecutive victories.

“We are feeling confident as a team and want to get our fourth win in a row,” began rising Wolves star Krisztina Nagy.

“We set a goal at the beginning of the season to get into the playoffs and victory this weekend would be a huge step towards that.

“As a group we have adapted quickly to losing two of our key players.

“We have remained disciplined and play hard for one another. We are more motivated and focused than ever before.

The Hungarian guard is flourishing in her second year in Oaklands, having produced a series of standout performances.

“Last season it was hard to adapt,” admitted Nagy.

“However, I feel like now I’m used to the toughness and speed of the league.

“My role on the team is to give energy. I can bring the ball up and put my teammates into scoring positions.

“I like to shoot the ball and my teammates do a great job putting me in a position to be able to do what I can do best on the court.

“As a young player, I’ll continue to work hard on developing my skills and finding my game style.”

Elsewhere, Caledonia Pride host unbeaten Sevenoaks Suns before Manchester Mystics do battle with Team Northumbria to round out the day’s action.
