Three home victories tipped off the 2018-19 Championship campaign, as the Lions, Hatters and Mystics all picked up opening day wins.

BA London Lions withstood a late Oaklands Wolves charge to take an opening day 74-71 win on their home court, with all five Lions’ starters hitting double-figure scoring – Diana Voynova led the way with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters took care of business to record an eye-catching 97-63 victory over the visiting Nottingham Wildcats. Sarah Toeaina and Alison Gorrell produced spectacular debuts, combining for 48 points and 24 rebounds. Helen Naylor led the team in scoring with 28 points and added seven rebounds.

A fine display from Manchester Mystics resulted in an emphatic 87-46 win against Durham Palatinates. Georgia Jones scored crucial early points on her way to a team-leading 17, adding five assists.
