After completing her second season in the WBBL, Scottish forward Claire Paxton makes the journey up north from Leicester Riders to join the Durham Palatinates programme.

“The Palatinates have been growing every season for the past few years and it feels like an exciting programme to be part of,” said Paxton after her move was confirmed.

“I think this team has great potential. The ultimate achievement would be finishing in the top half of the league and getting a home advantage for the Play-Offs and also making it to the Cup and Trophy Finals.”

Paxton previously played back in Scotland with Caledonia Pride and having represented Scotland and Great Britain at various levels, she continues to enjoy every aspect of the game.

“I try to always bring a positive mind set into every situation we face, the love of the game and motivation from teammates fuels us to succeed throughout the season,” said Paxton.

“This year I think we’ll be an up tempo team that is exciting to watch,” she added.

Paxton has been snapped up alongside other new arrivals Nicolette Fong Lyew Quee and Mollie Campbell, Katie Bennett and Ellie Hutchinson.
