Upsets, and demolitions, as it has been a wild set of games today, as Durham Palatinates and Oaklands Wolves pick up wins in the Women’s British Basketball League Championship.
Durham Palatinates 76-69 Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles

Durham Palatinates: Janika Griffith Wallace, Elle Hendershot, Sophie Klassen, Katie Bennett, Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby.
Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles: Chloe Gaynor, Marina Fernandez Pardo, Abigail Lowe, Lauren Saiki, Tierra Hodges.
Durham Palatinates upset Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles at home, as they closed to gap to the middle of the pack with a 76-69 victory.
First Half
Even though the Eagles won the jump ball, they could not capitalize which led to the Palatinates taking the first points of the game.
No team managed to pull out a sizable advantage with Newcastle only managing a one-point gap at the end of the first quarter.
The Eagles continued where they left off and increased their gap, but it was short-lived.
Durham Palatinates were not hanging around and clawed back that advantage and created one of their own.
The Palatinates ended the first half with a six-point lead over the Eagles with the scores being 41-35.
Second Half
A similar story continued as Durham extended their lead to 13 points. But a late resurgence from Newcastle halved that advantage.
With only a seven-point gap between the teams, it was all to play for in the final ten minutes.
Within the first two minutes of the final quarter, the Palatinates extended their lead to 15 points, from here it was all but impossible for the Eagles to come back.
As they tried to fight back, they got the score back to within five points, but it was not meant to be for the Eagles today.
Durham Palatinates secured the victory winning 76-69 with a 7 point advantage in the end.
Player of the Game
The Player of the Game goes to Durham Palatinates’ Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby. Even though she did not score the most points, her ariel threat today was above class, which helped her team to get the victory today. With 17 points scored, 12 rebounds and 2 assists.

Oaklands Wolves 87-59 Cardiff Met Archers

Oakland Wolves are back to winning ways, after a comfortable win over Cardiff Met Archers, with an 87-59 victory
First Half
Both teams started equally, with the lead going back and forth between each team. With nothing to separate them, they tied everything up in the first quarter.
It was a similar story at the end of the first half, But thanks to two late three-pointers made by the Wolves, gave them a 4-point lead at the end of the half.
Second Half
The third quarter was a different story to be told. The offensive power that the Wolves had on offer was nowhere to be matched by the Archers.
This gave them a 21-point lead over the Archers, which has all but sealed the victory for the Wolves.
However, the Wolves were not done playing with their food just yet, they kept the pressure on the Archers, giving them no wriggle room, as they continued to grow the gap between the two teams.
The Wolves won with a dominating performance at home winning 87-59, with a 28-point advantage over the Archers.
Player of the Game
The Player of the Game goes to Caterrion Thompson, who boosted an impressive performance of 19 points scored, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
