Essex Rebels have confirmed the arrival of two new players in their camp as they look to gain some momentum during their debut season in the Women’s British Basketball League.
Having announced Barbara Corominas last night, they have followed it up with a return to the club for former favourite, Karla Powlesland.
Corominas is a product of the University programme and Rebels are very excited to have her join the team. She brings an enormous amount of energy and effort and has worked incredibly hard during the last three months and deserves this opportunity to now step up to the elite.
Meanwhile Powlesland is an experienced national league player, who was a key member of the former Essex Blades team, having played a part in a very successful campaign last year in claiming the league title, while also making appearances in the National Cup Final, along with a National Play-Off Final.
She will instantly offer the Rebels some additional height and is someone who can make an impact at both ends of the floor.
The duo are expected to line-up for Saturday’s crunch derby match-up against Oaklands Wolves.
