Riders complete major coup by landing Memphis NCAA standout

Leicester Riders may have landed a bonafide MVP contender for the 2018-19 WBBL season after securing the services of NCAA star, Brea Elmore.

The do-it-all guard/wing player lit it up a the highest College level with the University of Memphis and is now ready to transfer her skills to the British game.

Elmore started all 30 games for the Tigers during her Senior year in 2017-18, becoming only the 25th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. She also finished second in all-time school history for three-pointer made after sinking 65 of them.

Her versatility, as well as her ability to score and create will be a huge boost for the Riders, with Elmore having as good a resume as any previous WBBL player who has come via the NCAA route.

She racked up an eye-catching 15.3 points, 4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game last season.

“I’m really happy to have Brea joining the Riders!,” enthused Head Coach, Jesper Sundberg.

“We get a tall athletic guard that improved her game and numbers a lot every year at Memphis.

“She is a versatile scorer who can create for herself and others. I believe Brea will be a great addition to our team,” added the play-caller.

Elmore will combine suiting up for Riders with studying for a Masters degree for two years at the Loughborough University School of Business and Economics.
