After plenty of anticipation, the 11 Women’s British Basketball League clubs have learned their fate and the tasks that lay ahead of them if they’re to book a place at Utilita Arena Birmingham for the Betty Codona Trophy Final on January 28 2024.

Following the conclusion of the Quarter-Final and Semi-Final draws at the League’s offices this week, we’re delighted to confirm the tantalising ties that await your favourite Women’s League clubs and superstars ahead of the first major Final of the season.

Six clubs will tip off the competition on the first weekend of the New Year as Cardiff, Durham, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Oaklands will contest the first round of the competition.

The Durham Palatinates (9^th in the Championship) will host Oaklands (6^th) in the first of a triple-header of games on January 6 before Cardiff (11^th) welcome Manchester (8^th) and Nottingham (10^th) travel to Newcastle (7^th), with the six sides competing for a place in the Quarter-Finals the following weekend.

The top five teams from last year’s Championship received a bye into the Quarter-Final stage, with the Essex Rebels (5^th) hosting the Leicester Riders (3^rd) on January 13 in a rematch of last season’s Playoff Quarter-Finals, and the Caledonia Gladiators (2^nd) travelling south to play the defending Champions London Lions (1^st).

The B. Braun Sheffield Hatters await the winners of Durham’s clash with Oaklands, whilst the winners of the other two first-round ties face off in the fourth Quarter-Final – with the winner of Cardiff vs Manchester securing homecourt advantage for that clash.

The Semi-Finals are slated to take place on January 2020/21 where the winner of London vs Caledonia will host the winner of Sheffield’s Quarter-Final tie (opponent TBC), with the winners of Essex vs Leicester hosting the winner of the remaining Quarter-Final matchup.

As if all of that action wasn’t enough, when all of this is said and done, the two teams left standing will head to the Midlands on January 28 to do battle in the Betty Codona Trophy Final in front of an expected sell-out crowd at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena.
