Alex Smith has been crowned Molten WBBL Player of the Month for February after her terrific contributions guided Leicester Riders unbeaten during the period and to the top of the table.

Her gong comes off the back of play-caller Krumesh Patel being handed the Coach of the Month award.

Smith was the leading scorer in the WBBL during February, harvesting a superb 22.3 points per game – helped by some sparkling long-range shooting. The guard made 55% from downtown, dropping 16 triples across her three outings

She also showed her renowned creative ability too by dishing up 5.3 assists per game.

Smith fought off stiff competition from Nottingham Wildcats duo Ashley Harris and Alyesha Lovett to land the accolade.
