Suns shine again, Riders escape and Lions roar

Leaders Sevenoaks Suns extended their unbeaten run in the WBBL Championship as they shut down Durham Palatinates 54-70 on the road. Ta’Yani Clark was sensational with a rare triple-double of 13 points, 17 rebounds and 11 assists.

Earlier in the day, their closest challengers Leicester Riders almost lost valuable ground. But, they avoided an upset and were able to dig out a precious and exciting 86-81 victory against Essex Rebels – thanks mainly to 19 points from Rebecca Navarro.

There was also joy for BA London Lions who improved their prospects of making the Play-Offs by moving into a spot as they took their fifth league success of the season with a 70-56 win against Newcastle Eagles. Urysla Cotton starred with an 18-point and 11-rebound double-double.
