Team Northumbria have signed Great Britain national team member Hannah Shaw and the centre will step out with the team this weekend against Oaklands Wolves.

The north-east franchise have made a move for their new recruit after the departure of Chan Handy to Turkey, with Shaw available after leaving her hometown Nottingham Wildcats.

“I am very excited to have Hannah join our programme – as are the rest of the team,” confirmed Northumbria Head Coach, Chris Bunten.

“Hannah trained this week and instantly showed the impact she can have. Hannah brings a lot of positive and new dimensions at both ends of the court. She is a very driven person and wants the opportunity to continue to improve in all areas of the game.

“We have no doubt that her time here at Northumbria will help her achieve her goals. The support services we have in full time capacity like strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, sports psychology, sports nutritionalist and performance analyst is something Hannah will be able to utilise whilst she is here,” added the play-caller.
