After announcing Vanessa Ellis as the North team Head Coach yesterday for the inaugural Women’s British Basketball League All-Star Game, we can now reveal that London Lions Head Coach, Stella Kaltisdou, is to head up this year’s South team.

Kaltisdou’s All-Star team will feature the very best talent from the Women’s British Basketball League South clubs; and with fan voting still open for another four weeks to confirm her starting five, Kaltisdou has some time to wait before deciding on her strategy to beat Ellis’ side to win the first-ever Women’s British Basketball League All-Star Game.

The Head Coaches for each team are selected based on the top-performing coaches in the North and South of the Women’s British Basketball League Championship.

The former Greek international player-turned-coach led her Lions side to Playoff victory last season and remains unbeaten this season in both domestic and European competition.

Once the South team’s starting five is determined by the fans (voting closes on February 15), Kaltisdou must pick her reserves from the remaining players across the South clubs, with each club being represented within the roster. 

South clubs: Cardiff Met Archers, Essex Rebels, Leicester Riders, London Lions, Nottingham Wildcats and Oaklands Wolves.
