The WBBL Championship title race is down to three, as wins for Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters and Leicester Riders saw them join Manchester Mystics, who lost, in second place in pursuit of Nottingham Wildcats; while Sevenoaks Suns dropped out of the running.

The biggest result of the day saw Hatters beat Mystics 78-72, thereby taking the head-to-head over their rivals and possibly making them the most likely side to topple Wildcats, although Mystics are still in with a shot. Brittany WInborne had the performance of the day with a massive haul of 25 points and 17 rebounds.

Riders, meanwhile, despite taking a share of second with a huge 84-53 win over Oaklands Wolves as Erika Livermore scored 17 points on 88% shooting, find themselves out of the running at the end of the weekend as they are two wins behind their East Midlands rivals, and have lost the head-to-head against them.

Finally on Sunday, Team Northumbria kept their hopes of a top four finish alive as they beat Suns 67-63, mathematically ending their visitors’ outside chance of the WBBL Championship title.
