WBBL All Star Five – Week 13

It may be February, but still the debutantes are arriving and we have two more in this week’s line-up.

Amy Browne (Manchester Mystics)
Back on the roster after missing the WBBL Cup Final, the quality of the Mystics’ guard was back in evidence as she helped to collect a WBBL Trophy win against Team Northumbria. Browne corralled 26 points from a trademark perimeter shooting effort which saw her drop five triples. She also had four boards, two assists and two blocks.

Deanne Hayward (Leicester Riders)
The first of our debutantes, Hayward was a pivotal player in Leicester coming away from Welsh soil with a win at Cardiff Met Archers. She grabs her first starting slot of the season in our fab five after also lighting it up from long-range. She as a perfect five of five from behind the arc en-route to 23 points, which was complemented by four assists.


Steph Gandy (Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters)
The former WBBL MVP continues to roll back the years and is on fire right now, gabbing her seventh starting berth of the campaign to move into joint second for the most appearances in the All Star Five. Gandy racked up 20 points in a comfortable WBBL Trophy win against Caledonia Pride to maintain her rich vein of form.

Imani Whittington (Barking Abbey Crusaders)
The forward put on a show for viewers worldwide on BBC Sport with a sparkling effort for Crusaders in their south-east derby against Oaklands Wolves. Whittington propelled her side to a hard-fought Trophy win off the back of 27 points in a superb inside-outside shooting performance. She also harvested three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Erika Livermore (Leicester Riders)
Our second debutante crashes into the line-up with the best performance of the weekend in the WBBL. A recent signing by Riders, it looks like Livermore could be a difference-maker down the season stretch after showcasing her skills in the Trophy win at Archers. She fired 33 points from a jaw-dropping 14 of 17 and recorded five assists, three boards and three blocks.
