Our line-up was a bit special this week as it includes the players who all catapulted their teams to within one last step of a showpiece WBBL Cup Final.
Rosanna Reynolds (Caledonia Pride)
The guard was on fire for Pride as they eliminated the holders Manchester with a big upset road win. Reynolds erupted for 33 points in one of the best performances of the entire WBBL season. She went 9 of 15, including 5 triples and also added 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
Alison Gorrell (Team Northumbria)
It’s a third berth of the campaign in our starting line-up for Gorrell who continues to fuel Team Northumbria’s ambitions. The versatile swingman was a difference-maker on the road at Oaklands, with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists ending the Cup dreams of the hometown Wolves.
Kate Oliver (Leicester Riders)
It’s a first ever appearance in our fantastic five for Oliver as the frontcourt star led Leicester in their eye-catching triumph at home to Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters. She amassed a powerful and productive 16 points and 14 rebounds for Riders, also coming up with a couple of big blocks.
Ashley Harris (Nottingham Wildcats)
While Wildcats have been uncharacteristically struggling in league action, Harris ensured they brought the noise in the Cup with a towering display against WBBL leaders, Sevenoaks Suns. The forward finished the contest with 20 points and 12 rebounds to improve the mood in the camp of the reigning champs.
Tricia Oakes (Caledonia Pride)
The centre was a colossus as she helped Pride to rack up what was arguably the best win of their brief WBBL history. Oakes proved too hot to handle for the Mystics defence as she conjured up a stellar double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds to propel the Scottish side into the last four.
Off the bench – Onayssa Sbahi (Nottingham Wildcats), Dee Hayward (Leicester Riders), Gianna Woods (Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters), Alex Smith (Leicester Riders), Lauren Thomas-Johnson (Manchester Mystics), Ta’Yani Clark (Sevenoaks Suns), Steph Gandy (Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters).
