BA London Lions failed to pick up a single win in the shortened 2019-20 campaign, but have put together an exciting roster for the upcoming season.

Last season: Mark Clark’s side opened with two group defeats in the Trophy and were edged out in a narrow one-point loss on the road at Oaklands Wolves in the Cup.

Another close defeat to the Wolves followed in the league, but was as close as BA came to a league victory as they slumped to 0-13 including a 75-point loss against Leicester Riders.

Back again: GB junior Tamara Fournillier-Onadeko is back for a second year with the Lions, alongside Anna Trett, while Ines Goryanova and Nikola Kuzmanovic make the step up from the academy side.

New faces: The Lions have turned to exciting British talent to form a new core this season, led by Kennedy Leonard, who made a GB Senior debut last summer. Former GB Under-20s duo Shanice Norton and Paige Robinson also arrive with the latter previously playing for Brixton Topcats in the WBBL.

Americans Cassie Breen and Stephanie Umeh are new to the league alongside Austrian forward Valentina Klocker.

The trio will provide experience to several new prospects including GB juniors Fatmata Janneh, Nicholle Lavinier and Chennai Mushore

Outlook: Following a tough season, the future looks brighter for the Lions this year and they could be dark horses to pull out some big results.
